Be a historian for the day and learn through the myths, legends and stories of the St. Patrick Day Festival and what he ate

What St. Patrick Ate Classroom Resource

Materials

  • Foodoppi Activity work sheet (download below)
  • A couple of new foods to taste: cottage cheese, cheddar cheese, oats, oat/rye bread, seaweed, wild garlic, fish, honey, nuts, fruit & berries.

Procedure

  1. 1Display the pdf resource on the whiteboard and use it as the starting point for the class for discussion or print one out for each student.
  2. 2Discussion Activity - Cause and effect: discuss the reasons for, and the effect of, some events and changes in the past
  3. 3Role Play - Pretend to be St. Patrick at lunch time & Plan a healthy St. Patrick's Lunch Box Themed Day.
